2025 in Review

2025 felt like a turning point for Omughisa Rwenzori and the people of the Kyarumba and Muhokya communities, as small, steady investments grew into real change. Families in some of the most isolated communities saw new possibilities open for themselves through increased mobility, food security, and opportunities for meaningful work close to home.
What We Set Out to Do
At the beginning of 2025 we committed to three main priorities:
- Restore vehicle access to the isolated Kasanga-Kaghema community
- Strengthen school nutrition and food security programs for two primary schools
- Expand youth employment and training through the Muhokya Carpentry Centre
What Your Support Made Possible
A Bridge that Reconnected Communities

The Dubu River Arch Bridge has been our largest project to date. After years of flooding and dangerous river crossings, families can now safely reach markets, health centres, and nearby communities. Emergency vehicles can reach them; power can be installed; washed-out roads can be repaired; lives have been changed.
Food Security and School Lunches
At Musasa and Bughungu Primary Schools, gardens grew, lunches were served, and essential repairs were completed. These activities reduce hunger, improve school attendance, and give children the stability they need to learn.
Training and Opportunity for Young People
The Muhokya Carpentry Centre continued to grow, offering hands-on training, tools, and mentorship. Young people are gaining skills that lead to employment and entrepreneurship, keeping talent and opportunity rooted in the community.

Thank You
Your support is felt in the warm welcome we receive from the community, in the laughter of students eating a hot lunch, and in the relief of a family able to transport their produce to market. Thank you for walking alongside the people of Kyarumba and Muhokya. We are honoured to continue this work with you.
