Musasa Primary School & Bughungu Primary School

Each year, Primary 7 students at Musasa and Bughungu Primary Schools enter a critical period of study as they prepare for Uganda’s national Primary Leaving Examination (PLE). Their exam results determine whether they will advance to secondary school, shaping their educational future and long-term opportunities. To give these students the best chance of success, both schools provide boarding during their final study months so learners can focus, access teachers, and study in a stable environment.

Reliable meals are essential to this effort. Many students come from households facing food insecurity, and without guaranteed nutrition, their ability to concentrate, learn, and thrive is compromised. This project ensures that every boarding student receives consistent, nutritious meals throughout the P7 study period.

What the Project Provides

  • Daily meals for all boarding students at Musasa Primary School (Monthly cost: $300)
  • Daily meals for all boarding students at Bughungu Primary School (Monthly cost: $225)

Meals typically include staples such as posho, beans, rice, and vegetables to sustain energy and support long study days. These meals are prepared at the schools and supplemented by produce from each school’s food security gardens.
