With the best of intentions, I was going to post daily updates to our 2024 trip to Uganda. Experience from previous trips should have reminded me that daily updates are simply not possible. The schedule is tight, with very little down time for writing. When there is time, we are all either happily bone-tired from the day’s activities, or the wifi or cellular connection is inadequate, unstable, or non-existent. With that apology in place, now that the trip has concluded, I will offer some highlights.
Our group of six began our trip with a required stop to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Ziwa has been successfully working to restore the white rhino population in Uganda since 2005. Ziwa offers guided walks to see these animals in their natural environment, and so we did. There are warthogs, too, but they are quite plentiful… anywhere there’s grass to be had.

Hiya, kid! Yes, lots going on, and we really need to connect. I have been back just a few weeks. Feel like I’m suffering from multiple personality disorder. Takes a while to get settled back in. Let me know when you’re at home. Let’s make some time for lunch, soon as we can.
