October 9, 2025… Independence Day in Uganda!

And independence to the people of Kasanga-Kaghema, who can now move more freely throughout their community. Vehicles can cross the river, which means that the road damaged by flooding can finally be repaired. Power can come to the villages, and emergency vehicles will be able to reach people in need.

This beautiful Roman-arch bridge was constructed with the skill and expertise of our stonemason, Mister Mweryabisando Patrick (leather jacket, centre) and his crew of local workers. Our own Omughisa Rwenzori Director, Mister Kasibirehe Joseph (wearing a tie), served as the Project Manager, and made sure that the construction was on time and on budget. The Society is so grateful for you both, and for all of the workers who helped construct this bridge in an astonishing five weeks!

We would also like to thank our supporters, well-wishers, and donors who were so generous with their contributions, which made this bridge a reality.

To the people of Kyarumba: thank you for loving us as much as we love you.

The Kasanga-Kaghema Trading Centre, nearly destroyed by flooding, can now be repaired.

    1. Dear Kasibirehe thank you for the Bridge project supervisory role you played. Thank you too Karen for the support you gave in towards the construction of the Bridge. May the almighty God bless you as you continue thinking and praying for the OMughisa Rwenzori community.

      1. Thank you for your encouraging words, Godfrey. This has been our biggest project so far, and we are so pleased with the results. Especially happy for the villages of Kasanga-Kaghema.
