This time of year, it never fails. The rainy season is upon us, and the rivers are swollen beyond capacity. People build close to the rivers because they don’t have to walk so far to fill jerrycans. But the downside of that easy access to water is the devastation that occurs when there is just too much water. The boulders in these rivers are enormous, and when the river starts tumbling them down the mountain, the sound is terrifying, especially at night. So far, our major bridges have held, but the sad news is that there has been some loss of life. Updates when we have them.
